Tyco Retail Solutions, a leading global provider of retail performance and security solutions, recently announced the release of TrueVUE version 5.1, which further enhances its capabilities to accelerate large scale retail RFID deployments faster and more cost effectively across all stores chain-wide.

This version of TrueVUE facilitates centralized setup and control of inventory management to drive accuracy, visibility and operational efficiencies. In addition, the new features enable retailers to maximize existing investments in iOS devices for RFID inventory transactions and to support in-store mobility strategies. Through centralized system deployment and increased mobility, information is delivered from the enterprise to the stores, empowering personnel to easily access information anytime, anywhere, from any device.

Use of RFID technology in retail is gaining momentum as a critical IT enabler of a successful omni-channel strategy. RFID has proven to increase inventory accuracy up to 99% by enabling regular cycle counting to establish and maintain true merchandise quantities on hand and reliable inventory visibility. With v.5.1, Tyco continues to deliver capabilities that enable scalable, large retail deployments. The latest enhancements improve cycle counting and allow many more simultaneous users and inventory count sessions across all stores on a single centralized server. This further ensures accuracy and efficiency with all inventory counts, reducing data contention across large retail environments. Additional performance reporting provides insight into cycle counts for optimizing processes, employee productivity, and operational efficiency.

Tyco’s latest TrueVUE enhancements also extend the value of mobile technologies in the store by expanding mobile RFID inventory management capabilities to drive efficiencies and empower store associates. The updated platform leverages retailers’ existing investment in cost-effective iOS devices combined with add-on RFID readers, strengthening corporate in-store mobility strategic objectives. Additionally, a newly supported RFID sled reader is designed to communicate with a variety of host devices via Bluetooth wireless technology. The ready-made assemblies mount iOS devices on the reader, leveraging mobile devices already in use in the store such as an iPhone or iTouch.

“Designed to accelerate large scale deployments, TrueVUE v.5.1 helps retailers maximize their current investments in cloud and mobile technologies and seamlessly improve store efficiencies,” said Nancy Chisholm, President, Tyco Retail Solutions. “Proven to increase inventory accuracy, decrease out-of-stocks, and amplify on-floor availability, RFID is quickly becoming a critical enabler for retail success today. With our strategic focus on RFID technology innovation, we continue advancing our solutions to help retailers’ worldwide gain a competitive advantage and achieve store excellence.”
