NOTA DE PRENSA DOCUMENTUM USA
PLEASANTON, Calif., Sept. 3 — Documentum today announced that The Well Project has implemented Documentum 5, the latest version of the Documentum ECM platform. The Well Project (TWP) is a community-focused organization that is committed to improving the lives of women living with HIV and AIDS. Using Documentum 5, TWP can easily create, manage, deliver and archive its web content and other content assets. TWP worked with Documentum Alliance Partner, Armedia, to deploy the solution.
The World Health Organization estimates that there were 180,000 HIV- positive women in the U.S. in 2001, and 19.2 million HIV-positive women worldwide, accounting for almost half of the 42 million HIV-positive adults in 2001. The Well Project’s mission is to improve the lives of women living with HIV and AIDS by developing and nurturing a support network and serving as a resource with timely information on the latest research and news. The organization provides clinical trials information, support group locations, doctor referrals and a variety of other services. TWP partners with several leading pharmaceutical corporations, foundations and philanthropists for funding, research and other resources.
TWP was anxious to launch its online community, but was careful in determining its content management requirements and selecting a provider. They were looking for a platform to support an abundance of content, sophisticated message boards and personalization functionality to serve users based on their geographical location. In addition to deploying Documentum 5, TWP also selected Documentum Media Services to manage its rich media assets. TWP will use Media Services to provide audio and video presentations and develop many eLearning initiatives.
«A primary goal for The Well Project is to provide fresh, relevant content to our site users,» said Richard Averitt, chief operating officer for The Well Project. «The Documentum ECM platform accelerates our time to Web for publishing trusted content and allows non-technical users to easily contribute to the site. We have aggressive plans for our online community, and Documentum provides a true platform to grow as our needs evolve. Documentum is also highly-regarded in the pharmaceutical industry and we feel comfortable teaming with the market leader.»
«We worked with The Well Project to quickly determine their requirements and believed that Documentum was a technically superior solution because of its XML capabilities, which enable rapid site changes and updates,» said Jim Nasr, chief executive officer for Armedia, a business and technology consulting firm. «The Documentum ECM platform is an open, scalable and stable platform. Armedia has rich experience in working with Documentum and believe it is a technically superior product for demanding environments.»
«Documentum 5 enables global organizations to confidently and easily publish content to any number of web sites, portals and devices,» said Dave DeWalt, president and chief executive officer for Documentum. «By integrating the Documentum Media Services solution to manage audio, video and images, The Well Project has a solid foundation to pursue its noble goals of helping people.»
