Se entregaron los premios ID People Americas Awards 2011

Los premios fueron asignados a miembros destacados de la comunidad Americas ID Revolution Community que se destacaron en proyectos innovadores en áreas como identificación de ciudadanos, transporte, seguridad y seguimiento de activos.

Winners of the ID People Americas Awards 2011 announced
 
Leaders and visionaries cross continents to celebrate ID community winners from the Americas at prestigious ceremony in Rio de Janeiro
 
 
Rio de Janeiro, June 27, 2011 – The winners of this year’s ID People Americas Awards were revealed on June 22 during ID WORLD Rio de Janeiro 2011, the inaugural Americas summit organized by Wise Media. At the ceremony, hosted by Sophie B. de la Giroday, President of Wise Media, the awards were presented as the ID WORLD community’s recognition of the important contribution made by the thought leaders, innovators and pioneering adopters that drive the development of auto ID and wireless technology in the Americas region. The awards are assigned to outstanding members of the Americas ID Revolution Community who have distinguished themselves in key ICT-driven innovative projects in the areas of citizen ID, transportation security and asset tracking.
 
The awards were presented following nomination and voting by the members of the ID People Awards Committee, who have supported the initiative with enthusiasm in the run up to the event. The categories and winners are: 
 
Citizen ID Forum Award: Assigned to the person who has distinguished himself in the area of government driven ID schemes and new approaches to citizen-centric identification. Winner: Luiz Alberto Rodrigues, President, Eicon Controles Inteligentes, for his work to provide a transparent e-government process for Brazil’s public sector by creating ‘digital cities’ in the areas of health, education, taxation and law enforcement.
 
Transportation Security Forum Award: Assigned to a recognized leader in the transportation sector, who has brought security and efficiency to hubs and networks to improve performance in airports, railroad stations or seaports, as well as infrastructures of critical interest in the context of secure modern urban development. Winner: Maj. Leandro Pavani Agostini, Chief of Military Police, Sao Paolo, for the deployment by Brazil’s military police of a new technology ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, for facial-recognition glasses to scan and compare four hundred faces per second using 46,000 biometric points for comparison.
 
Asset Tracking Forum Award: Assigned to the person who has established new growth areas for the adoption of auto ID technology in supply chain management, logistics and critical asset control. Winner: Tal Gilat, CEO, InkSure Technologies, for the introduction of innovative new barcodes that have authentication and track and trace capabilities to help monitor IDs and documents attached to cars and a product that authenticates fuel. Nominations are now being taken for the ID People Awards 2011, which will be announced and presented during the celebratory tenth anniversary edition of ID WORLD International Congress, being held in Milan, Italy on November 3 – 4, 2011.
