NOTA DE PRENSA DE CAPTIVA GRAN BRETAÑA
GUILDFORD, U.K.–June 24, 2003–Captiva Software Corp., provider of input management solutions, today announced that the U.K. subsidiary of Schneider Electric, a world leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of electrical products and applications, has implemented InputAccel, Captiva’s premier document capture solution, as part of a company initiative to cut costs and streamline its invoice and document workflow process.
InputAccel delivers images of Schneider’s invoices, which are scanned at a central location and delivered to company management at numerous remote sites, allowing for immediate approval of payment. Managers can also view the documents on the company intranet. The central finance system is updated through a direct link from InputAccel to the company’s SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Schneider is benefiting from savings due to an organizational restructure and, more importantly, has increased the speed at which it pays its creditors and enabled the company to take advantage of prompt payment discounts.
«While our finance department was moving to a centralized structure, invoices continued to arrive at several of our regional facilities. We needed to find an efficient way to capture and deliver this crucial information to the appropriate managers for prompt approval and payment,» said Karen Harris, Schneider U.K.’s MIS Business Systems Manager. «We looked at other document capture systems, but found InputAccel to best fit our needs for a powerful, cost-effective and easy to use solution to our processing needs. In addition, its seamless integration to our legacy SAP system was a key benefit to us.»
Due to its initial success with the system, Schneider is now identifying additional applications for InputAccel, such as capturing employee records for its HR department and a quotation system that allows engineers and sales managers to share a single electronic version of requests for proposals (RFPs) and tender documents.
«Companies desiring to cut costs often find that while it’s easy to centralize the management function, the larger challenge exists in managing the many operational elements. InputAccel resolves this dilemma by allowing a single point of control to be imposed on operational processes that are geographically dispersed,» said Mark Lewis, Captiva’s vice president of european operations. «We look forward to working with Schneider on other applications of our input management solutions to additional areas of their business.»
InputAccel is a comprehensive, award-winning input management solution that transforms mission-critical data from paper and faxes into business-ready content. InputAccel ensures the integrity of incoming data and converts it into formats usable in back-end systems, including XML, image files and custom transaction formats. By delivering accurate, timely and usable data to enterprise systems, InputAccel creates unparalleled efficiencies for the many customers the solution serves.
