NOTA DE PRENSA DE OPEN TEXT USA
CHICAGO–Sept. 3, 2003– Open Text Corporation, provider of Livelink, the leading collaboration and content management software for the global enterprise, today announced that its Livelink solution has been adopted by Jewson Ltd, a Saint-Gobain company–Saint-Gobain is one of the world’s largest providers of building materials. Livelink was chosen by Jewson in order to increase revenue and drive efficiency across its network of 450 branches.
One of the key business drivers behind the project for Jewson, the UK’s largest supplier of timber and building materials, was to improve its overall revenue through automation of key business processes and the simplification of access to critical information that could increase employee productivity.
Livelink will replace existing time-consuming paper-based processes, allowing sales employees at Jewson’s branches to conveniently access and share information, and react promptly to changes in customer demand. Livelink will also reduce the overall administration overheads throughout the Jewson network.
Marc Izzard, e-Business Project Manager for Jewson, commented, «After an extensive evaluation process that included a live pilot with several Jewson branches, we chose Open Text’s Livelink because it was the most scalable, robust and mature solution on the market.»
Izzard added, «Using Livelink, we fully expect to have automated a number of our business processes and provide a knowledge sharing environment delivered though our Intranet by the end of 2003-a considerable achievement which we expect to deliver a significant and measurable return on our investment.»
«Jewson has the challenge of being a large company with people spread across many locations. They are looking to improved collaboration and knowledge management to overcome those challenges and improve productivity,» said Bill Forquer, Executive Vice President of Marketing, Open Text. «Livelink gives Jewson a central place where people can share information and manage projects. It also provides a streamlined internal architecture which is flexible enough to build on in the future.»
