Stellent system will enable Canada’s largest public library to
store and view large digital files and manage metadata component of its
Digital Collections and Virtual Reference Library

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Dec. 9, 2003 Stellent, Inc., a global provider of content management solutions, announced today the Toronto Public Library (TPL), one of the largest library systems in North America with 98 locations, has selected Stellent Content Management to support its extensive digital asset collection. The collection currently includes more than 100,000 digital files and is expected to grow by more than 20,000 images annually.

Stellent Content Management will enable the TPL to efficiently store and
view its large digital files on the Web, and utilize LizardTech’s MrSID
technology, which allows users to zoom, pan and manipulate images in order
to retrieve data at the specificity of detail required. The Stellent system
also will manage the metadata component of TPL’s entire Digital Collections
and Virtual Reference Library, and will make this digital content available
worldwide. Locus Systems, Inc., Stellent’s integration partner in Canada,
will lead TPL through its Stellent Content Management implementation and
integrate the system with TPL’s Sun Solaris operating system and BEA portal.

«Approximately 16.6 million people visit our library each year, and many of
them utilize our Digital Collections and Virtual Reference Library to obtain
information,» said Kathy Scardellato, manager of the Virtual Reference
Library for Toronto Public Library. «Stellent Content Management will allow
us to provide these individuals with easier, more efficient access to our
digital content through the Web. The system is highly scalable, which will
support the substantial growth in our content base each year, and its open
architecture enables us to easily integrate it with our current technology
environment.»

«Stellent has helped numerous organizations effectively manage their digital
assets in one central location on the Web,» said Robert Olson, president and
chief executive officer for Stellent. «The Stellent Universal Content
Management implementation at TPL demonstrates the system’s ability to
efficiently categorize large volumes of digital content to promote easy
search and retrieval. Our recent acquisition of certain assets of Ancept
will enable us to further expand our digital asset management capabilities
to provide organizations, like the Toronto Public Library, with even greater
functionality for fully leveraging this critical type of content.»
