NOTA DE PRENSA DE VIGNETTE USA
AUSTIN, Texas, June 16 — After a rigorous technical evaluation and business case development process, MapInfo Corp. (Nasdaq: MAPS), a leading provider of location intelligence solutions for the enterprise, has selected Vignette V7 over seven other solutions. Facing exponential growth in the amount of information available to its customers through its Web sites, MapInfo needed a strategy to capitalize on the valuable information captured in its pre-existing applications, to deliver the most relevant and timely information to customers and to consolidate and simplify the management of its portfolio of Web properties.
MapInfo’s vendor evaluation process spanned four months in which eight solutions were evaluated against stringent technology and price criteria. Short-listed vendors were then challenged to demonstrate their proven business value and their ability to address MapInfo’s unique business needs. Vignette aggressively rose to the challenge and exceeded MapInfo’s expectations.
«MapInfo’s customers span a broad range of vertical markets across the world, with different applications and business goals,» said Kim Seabury, director of business applications and Web operations for MapInfo. «Thanks to Vignette technology, the MapInfo site will evolve to be completely dynamic, which lets us deliver personalized content to customers based on their industry, needs or products. We’ll also be able to reduce turnaround on Web content expansion from two weeks to a few days, and be able to create new sites quickly.»
Seabury emphasized the ability to integrate Vignette V7 with existing MapInfo applications for customer relationship management, its financial system, e-mail and authentication. «Vignette’s APIs let us leverage our existing data investment, including Lotus Notes, with little or no programming,» said Seabury. «Our business users are accustomed to Microsoft Visio, so Vignette’s automated business process workflows using preconfigured templates in Visio are a huge advantage.»
«MapInfo’s innovative location-based data and services give its customers a powerful competitive edge,» said Nolan Rosen, vice president of worldwide marketing at Vignette. «Vignette will allow MapInfo to deliver information faster, to targeted audiences, to better serve its growing customer base.»
