Convera and IXOS Partner to Deliver Highly Scalable Search and Archiving Solution
PHILADELPHIA & VIENNA, Va.–March 24, 2003– IXOS to Resell Convera’s RetrievalWare(R), Enabling Enterprises to Quickly Search, Retrieve and Manage IXOS-eCONserver Content
Convera (Nasdaq:CNVR) and IXOS Software Inc. (Nasdaq:XOSY, NEUER MARKT:XOS) today announced a new partnership designed to assist enterprise customers in managing large volumes of business documents and email communications.
Under the agreement, IXOS will sell Convera’s RetrievalWare(R) search and categorization software as an optional component of the IXOS-eCONserver product.
The combined solution will add Convera’s highly accurate and scalable search capabilities to enable customers to retrieve email messages, attachments and other critical business documents from the IXOS-eCONserver archive for a variety of purposes, including records management, discovery and general knowledge management.
The solution, available immediately, will be sold to the commercial and federal market by IXOS’ North American sales teams in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The IXOS-eCONserver enables users to manage millions of documents from a wide range of applications, regardless of file format – everything from scanned documents to MS Office documents to e-mail. By integrating RetrievalWare with the IXOS-eCONserver, users can quickly and accurately locate pertinent information, whether the information is stored in an attachment or in the body of an email message.
Both Convera and IXOS are known within the industry for their superiority in scalability. According to Forrester Research’s recent Grading Search Platform Hopefuls report, Convera’s search categorization solution received the highest possible scores and outperformed its main competitors in the area of scalability.
The majority of the Fortune 500 and high profile enterprises globally have deployed the IXOS-eCONServer to support projects with high scalability requirements, including the U.S. Air Force’s Air Mobility Command which handles more than 65,000 Microsoft Exchange users.
