PLEASANTON, Calif., May 20 / — Documentum (Nasdaq: DCTM ), provider of enterprise content management (ECM), today announced that FT Business, part of the Financial Times Group, one of the world’s leading publishers of global business news, information and services, has chosen the Documentum ECM platform to create, manage, deliver and archive Web content for the online version of UK’s leading investment magazine, Investors Chronicle. The Documentum ECM platform, to be implemented by systems integrator EvolvedThought, will help FT Business cut operational costs by bringing its web publishing system in-house, increase revenues, and attract additional subscribers and advertisers by delivering an improved web/magazine offering.
FT Business publishes 14 business publications globally, including Investors Chronicle, The Banker, Financial Adviser and Money Management. Its flagship publication, Investors Chronicle, is highly regarded in the UK private investment market, and has more than 100,000 readers with a combined net worth of 50 billion pounds Sterling. FT Business wanted to reduce the costs associated with creating, managing, delivering and archiving web content, and to create additional revenue streams by improving its online offering, to deliver greater value to subscribers.
«FT Business chose the Documentum ECM platform because of its advanced XML capabilities,» said Nick Crawshaw, CEO of FT Business. «We plan to build a single XML content repository for use by all staff, which will allow us to create content once and easily re-use that content across other initiatives, eliminating the hassle and waste of duplicating and recreating information.»
Tim Pullen, Chief Operating Officer of EvolvedThought said «By working closely with FT Business, EvolvedThought will introduce new technology that will greatly enhance the end customer’s experience. Through the initial rapid deployment of Documentum’s leading ECM Platform, FT Business will be able to provide its staff with a better, quicker, more secure and easier to use system that improves their overall business performance.»
«Companies around the globe are deploying the Documentum ECM platform to enhance operating efficiencies and, as in the case of FT Business, expose new opportunities to generate revenue,» said Dave DeWalt, president and chief executive officer for Documentum. «Documentum is pleased to work with FT Business and look forward to a lasting relationship with the company.»
