SAN JOSE, Calif.–April 12, 2004– Business Objects, the world’s leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that Honeywell Aerospace has selected Business Objects as its business intelligence standard. Honeywell Aerospace, a leader in aerospace products, services, and solutions, has selected Business Objects as the foundation for its enterprise performance management (EPM) and data warehousing strategy. The company purchased the full suite of Business Objects products, including BusinessObjects Data Integrator and BusinessObjects Dashboard Manager.

With 42,000 employees and sales of $9 billion, Honeywell’s aerospace business is a leading global provider of integrated avionics, engines, systems and service solutions for aircraft manufacturers, airlines, business and general aviation, military, space and airport operations. Honeywell turned to Business Objects for an EPM solution that will allow executives to track key performance indicators and manage its Six Sigma initiative.

«We needed a business intelligence solution that would be fast to deploy, easy to customize and use, and offers low total cost of ownership,» said Dave Smoley, CIO and vice president for Honeywell Aerospace Electronics Systems, a unit of Honeywell Aerospace. «We have a diverse community of Business Objects users, including executives, managers, and specialists in engineering and manufacturing. With Business Objects, we can accommodate all users’ reporting needs and work from the same version of the truth across the company.»

Business Objects fulfilled Honeywell’s requirements for an ETL solution, including easy and quick deployment, rich metadata, and low total cost of ownership. BusinessObjects Data Integrator will play a key role in allowing Honeywell to standardize on one BI solution, as it will enable Honeywell to access data from information sources throughout the company, all on one platform.

«Honeywell represents a broad trend we are seeing in the business intelligence industry, in which organizations are standardizing on one business intelligence provider,» said Dave Kellogg, senior vice president of marketing for Business Objects. «Business Objects is a very attractive solution for companies that want to standardize on one provider — we have the strongest and broadest product offering, and as the clear leader in business intelligence, we are completely focused on helping organizations use business intelligence to improve enterprise performance.»
