NOTA DE PRENSA ULTIMUS USA
CARY, N.C.–Aug. 23, 2004– Ultimus, the leading provider of complete business process management (BPM) and workflow automation solutions, today announced that Grupo Financiero Uno has achieved a significant return on investment due to a 650% improvement in cycle times without increasing headcount by using the Ultimus BPM Suite.
Grupo Financiero Uno is the leading financial service provider in Central America, with locations in seven Latin American countries, including Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. There are more than 15 companies under the group, offering a wide range of financial services including banking, credit cards, loans, pension funds and remittances. Its consumer credit card arm has over a million credit card holders and is Central America’s largest issuer of Visa credit cards. The company employs more than 4000 people and estimates an annual growth rate of 35%.
Grupo Financiero Uno began automating its credit card processes a few years ago. A credit card approval process initially took 15 days, as there were many administrative tasks and approval cycles that needed to be finalized before the process was complete. Many times the manual process would stall due to paperwork sitting on desktops and getting lost in the shuffle. Through the use of the Ultimus BPM Suite, Grupo Financiero Uno eliminated much of the paperwork and brought that process down to less than 3 days. In fact, today Grupo Financiero Uno is able to process 470% more credit card applications and credit card disputes with the same number of staff per year while client growth continues 30% year over year.
«Processes that once took 16 people, can now be completed by only one person. Information is more accurate, since there is less room for human error,» said Erick Holmann, Regional Coordinator of BPM for Grupo Financiero Uno. «The Ultimus BPM Suite has allowed us to better allocate our resources to more vital activities. It has also improved employee satisfaction as users spend less time on administrative activities and more time focusing on higher-level, business critical tasks, such as customer service.»
Since the initial implementation of the Ultimus BPM Suite, Grupo Financiero Uno has also automated the use of Web Services. Currently, the organization is working with eight-to-ten different Web Services including data entry, adherence to credit card policies, credit scoring, and importing external credit bureaus information. Since the automation of these Web Services, each of the branches across seven countries in which Grupo Financiero Uno operates has more than doubled its processing capacity.
«Grupo Uno’s use of the Ultimus BPM Suite has made them a force in the Latin American banking industry,» said Rashid Khan, CEO and co-founder, Ultimus. «The organization is using some of the newest Ultimus technologies to improve business processes through automation, integration and human-workflow across multiple locations.»
The Ultimus BPM Suite is an independent BPM platform that automates any process incorporating people, applications and organizations. Businesses across a wide range of industries and geographies use the suite to manage enterprise-wide processes more efficiently. The Ultimus BPM Suite delivers strong ROI through a programming-free process modeling and development environment, flexible integration, workflow capabilities, powerful management tools, and easy to use Web interfaces for process participants.
