NOTA DE PRENSA DOCUMENTUM USA
PLEASANTON, Calif., July 1 / — Documentum today announced that Laboratory Management Systems, Inc. (LMSi), a full-service laboratory compliance partner for global pharmaceutical companies, is implementing the Documentum ECM platform throughout the company. The implementation will enable LMSi and its clients to manage controlled content for compliance with regulations such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) prescribed regulatory requirements for electronic records and signatures (21 CFR Part 11).
Virtually all of LMSi’s clients are pharmaceutical companies, many of whom also use the Documentum ECM platform to securely create, manage, deliver and archive vast quantities of content. LMSi’s clients use Documentum to work with manufacturing instructions, computer-aided design (CAD) drawings, test methods, validation protocols and reports and product, packaging and quality specifications. LMSi will use Documentum to manage both its internal procedures and those used to qualify equipment in client laboratories. The company will also file copies of service and qualification reports electronically. Using a secure web site, individual clients may be granted online access to their data, as well as the procedures used to perform their work.
Before Documentum, LMSi relied on mostly paper-based processes to manage FDA-regulated and related procedures and forms, which must be periodically reviewed and revised. LMSi is rapidly growing, and realized it needed to adopt enterprise content management solutions to accelerate its growth.
«Offering clients online access to procedures, as well as equipment qualification and service reports, gives LMSi a competitive advantage, and by implementing the Documentum platform, we expect to reach new levels of operational efficiency,» said Dr. John M. Read, Senior Vice President at LMSi. «After evaluating other ECM vendors, LMSi chose Documentum in part for its widespread use in the pharmaceutical industry, which makes exchanging data with our clients much easier.»
By implementing Documentum, the company hopes to streamline the filing and retrieval of data by scanning service and qualification reports into the system; ensure that employees, consultants and clients always have the most current documentation; accelerate procedure reviews; and maintain a single repository for all SOPs.
«Documentum welcomes LMSi to its dominant roster of pharmaceutical leaders and innovators who have implemented our ECM platform,» said Dave DeWalt, president and CEO of Documentum. «We are committed to helping companies increase their competitive advantage and comply with evolving regulations by providing a best-in-class ECM solution.»
