PLEASANTON, Calif., Oct. 6 /– Documentum today announced that it plans to offer support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux with Documentum 5, the latest version of the company’s industry-leading ECM platform. Widely recognized as the world’s fastest growing server operating system, Linux continues to achieve rapid adoption across large enterprises in major industries, including financial services, retail and government. Documentum has joined the Red Hat Advanced Software Partner program to support its Linux development and support efforts.
Continuing its commitment to standards and to providing customers freedom of choice for operating platforms, Documentum’s support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux will be made in a phased-approach, with Web application support available later this year. Linux continues to make major inroads in large enterprises for a variety of benefits, including cost, high performance and portability across most hardware platforms.
