Bantierra (www.bantierra.es), the Spanish savings bank cooperative based in Zaragoza, Spain, has deployed the technology of Information Builders (www.informationbuilders.es) to improve the Customer Service With WebFOCUS. The bank recently began operations following a merger between Multicaja (Caja Rural Aragonese and the Pyrenees) and Cajalón (Caja Rural de Aragón). Today, Bantierra’s 325 offices stretch across Aragon, Catalonia, La Rioja, Valencia, and Madrid. Bantierra is a member of the Spanish Association of Rural Banks and the National Union of Credit Unions.

In an era of economic uncertainty and increasing financial regulation throughout Europe, bank officers at Bantierra wanted to improve the bank’s reporting and business intelligence (BI) capabilities so they could more closely monitor operational activities, improve customer satisfaction, and mitigate churn. They also wanted a system that could easily share information with all business units and commercial branch managers.
