AIIM, NEW YORK, April 7, 2003 — Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) and Kofax announced an enhanced partnership that addresses the growing demands to digitally safeguard and increase efficiency of business-critical information. The agreement combines Xerox Global Services document imaging and repository capabilities with Kofaxs on-site scanning and document capture applications. The integration of Xeroxs and Kofaxs services and solutions will enable organizations to scan unlimited numbers of documents either on-site or scan to Xeroxs imaging and repository facility in Hot Springs, Ark.
Xerox Global Services was named a Kofax National Certified Solutions Provider as part of the expanded partnership. Xerox will sell and support Kofaxs data and document capture offerings. Kofax has been a Xerox Premier Business Partner since 2002.
This partnership brings a customized approach to the document and data-retention process, said Mack McCormick, vice president, Document, Content and Imaging Services, Xerox Global Services. The combined solution offers a complete tool set for organizations challenged to address regulatory compliance, concerned about the cost of document storage and searching for ways to improve customer service.
The offerings provide document-laden departments of large companies such as accounts payable, legal or customer service with the ability to scanand convert high-volumes of paper documents and content from remote locationsfrom across the organization. The company benefits from reduced processing timesand shipping costs by enabling knowledge workers to complete the conversionprocess from local office equipment and securely deliver digitized documentsto Xerox’s off-site document repository electronically.
